The Critical Role of the Supervisor

We know that a large percentage of employees do not quit a company, but rather quit their boss or supervisor. Good Supervision is the key to success in any organization large or small. In this course we will discuss the disconnect between what managers want, and what employees need and how to bridge that gap to create a cohesive team. We will cover key qualities of a great supervisor, commons supervisory pitfalls and create a roadmap for participants to improve their own skills.

Coaching and Counseling

In every leadership role, there are times where employees need support and guidance. Knowing the difference between coaching and counseling, and when to provide each is critical to your success. During this class, leaders will learn how to handle declining performance indicators and which tools are best used to support struggling team members.

Dealing with Difficult People

Every day difficult people enter our lives and leave us frustrated, drained and angry. In the workplace we can’t simply avoid the challenging person, but rather must learn to modify our own behavior. We will cover the basic principles of communication and some basic communication tools and skills.  In this workshop participants will learn how to diffuse challenging situations, and will leave feeling less stressed, and more in control when interacting with difficult people.

Conflict Resolution

Conflict resolution is a key component of success in any work environment. It is a natural by-product of people having different needs, interests, ideas and goals. No matter what your job, you will face conflicts both large and small, and the ability to recognize and deal with conflict is a core skill necessary to thrive. In this program we will cover causes of conflict within an organization, techniques to manage those conflicts and the benefits to resolving conflict quickly and thoroughly.
