Construction is One of the Nation's Largest Industries

The need for comprehensive workforce development initiatives such as training, recruiting, educating, attracting, retaining, and promoting workers is a major focus of the services AGC Maine provides for our members and the construction industry in Maine.Our members strongly support promoting the construction industry within their organizations, communities, schools, and are committed to creating a strong Maine economy. AGC Maine member companies invest time, effort, and finances to provide training and development opportunities for their employees, which is reflected in the goals of the Workforce Development Committee.

  • Continuously improve, expand, maintain, and offer high-quality, state-of-the-art safety training, professional development, and educational programs to our members and other construction-related business in Maine.
  • Collaborate with construction-related agencies, groups, and organizations with the same focus of promoting and expanding job and advancement opportunities in Maine.
  • Support secondary Career and Technical Centers, other K-12 programs, community college, university, and local community programs by offering construction focused, age-appropriate information, activities, and collaboration opportunities focused on retaining students in construction programs and making students aware of the vast professional career opportunities in construction.
  • Sponsor AGC of America Student Chapters in Maine's universities and colleges offering construction and engineering degree programs.
